After Netball brought the series within a point now standing at 3-2 Uni all eyes will turn once again to Clifton campus Sports Centre for Varsity Basket 2010, as Trent try to level the series. The URN Sports Team were lucky enough to catch up with the President of the Basketball team, James Tobias.

Nottingham University’s Netball Teams have had a very successful 2009/10 season so far. The first team made it to the playoffs for promotion to the top division but were eventually beaten by a very strong Durham side.

With the Series currently at 3-1 to Uni, the next two weeks see Varsity reach near completion. Between now and March 22nd the wonderful city of Nottingham sees 5 sports played out representing 9 points, and with no half points this year, the only way Varsity can still be undecided going into the cricket on 6th June is if the scores stand at 7-6 to either University. URN’s very own Sam Edwards looks at where the points are likely to be won and lost, and attempts as best possible to predict the scores of each match.

Sunday 28th February saw Rugby League Varsity taking place once again at Lady Bay, dwarfed by the surrounding stadiums Trent Bridge, Meadow Lane & the City Ground, in extremely cold temperatures! With a decent turnout of supporters from both university’s occupying the sidelines the scene was set. Previous to the main event the two 2nd teams had met on an adjacent pitch with Uni emerging victorious 16-14 in the closing minutes - a sign of things to come one may have thought?
