Interviews with Notts County Manager & Chief Executive
6th October 2012
Prior to Notts County’s game against Portsmouth on 22nd September, the Sport Show sent Michael Gaffney to meet the club’s manager, Keith Curle, and chief executive, Jim Rodwell, to find out about their plans for the Magpies in the coming season.
Speaking at Notts County’s prematch training session, Keith Curle explained why he chose to take the reins at Meadow Lane, and the footballing philosophy he wanted to instill in his players.
Jim Rodwell offered a compelling insight into the tasks that have faced County’s backroom staff since Ray Trew took control of the club, as well as the Magpies’ aims for the future. He also emphasised the importance of the fans to the team’s success, and explained how the club wants to encourage University of Nottingham students to get involved with the club.
If one thing is clear, it is that the leadership at Notts County have extremely ambitious aims for the club, as well as the resolve to see them through. They are determined to see the Magpies promoted into the Championship, but they want to do it the right way, with the emphasis on sustainability. Whatever happens, we can look forward to an exciting season of football down at Meadow Lane.
