Tuesday Sport Show 23-10-12

23rd October 2012

In this edition of the Tuesday Sport Show, Paul, Luke, Adam & Louis discuss a vast array of sporting topics starting with arguably the greatest racehorse of all-time, Frankel, who recently retired undefeated. The conversation soon turns to the value of retiring from your sport while still at the top and whether continuing past your peak is ill-advised.

Next, the panel dissect the aftermath of the stripping of Lance Armstrong’s 7 Tour de France titles, his lifelong ban from the sport and whether cycling can recover from this huge blow to its image.

The sensation that is sweeping the nation (or the URN sports team at least) Stat Poker, makes its triumphant return. With reigning champion Luke keen to retain his crown but Adam & Louis equally desperate to dethrone him, who will Judge Paul determine produces the most impressive stats when it counts?

In this penultimate segment, the team preview the week’s Champions League action with mixed-to-limited success when it comes to their predictions…

Finally, on a more serious note, the panel briefly reflect on the impact of certain Premiership footballers boycotting the ‘Kick it Out’ anti-racism campaign, whether the boycott was justified and how the campaign can move forward from here.

Thanks for listening and you can catch the Sport Show live every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday on URN 1350.
