Thursday Sport Show 1-11-12

1st November 2012

This week’s lively edition of the Thursday Sport Show began with Gaffers, Dave, Simona, Paul, Rob & Chris hosting the Fantasy Football Society, who in their short time of existence (having been founded only at the start of this year) have made a massive splash on the Uni scene. With prizes every month ranging from Ocean tickets to hospitality at Notts County FC, and all proceeds going to Karnival, it’s a great competition to get involved with!

We then welcomed Notts County Community Officer Matt Lawson onto the show to give us an update on how the Magipies are faring in their quest for promotion under Keith Curle this season. Like all of our guests, Matt didn’t escape the Sport Show Quiz, taking on Simona with surprising results.

Next we looked at Arsenal’s phenomenal comeback in the Capital One Cup against Reading, which they won 7-5. This then led us on to the subject of Theo Walcott’s ongoing contract disputes with the club, and a song that some Gooners put together urging Theo to ‘sign da ting’.

Listen to it for yourself!

The show was rounded off with a discussion of the other Capital One Cup fixtures, in particular analysing a Chelsea side that looks set to get stronger and stronger, as well as predicting further woe for Liverpool. And we gave our verdict on the consequences for the game of referee Mark Clattenburg’s accusations of racism.

Thanks to everyone who listened and texted in
