Thursday Sport Show 8-11-12

9th November 2012

This Thursday’s episode of the Sport Show saw Jack, Dave, Barney and Rob welcome the Ultimate Frisbee team into the studio to catch up with them about how their season has been developing. Naturally, the Ultimate players had to face the Sport Show Quiz, and in an incredible coup they became the first ever guests to beat the URN Sport Team!

Next up, the boys discussed how Nottingham’s two football sides were faring in their respective leagues. County look set to consolidate their promotion challenge off the back of a fantastic run of away form, if only they can start getting the results at home as well. Over the Trent, Forest will be looking to bounce back from their dissapointment against Millwall with a result in their big derby game against Leicester.

The team assessed England’s chances (or rather lack thereof) in their upcoming tour of India, as they face the perrenial question of how to cope with India’s spin bowlers. The studio then erupted into a fierce debate over who should be in the running for Sports Personality of the Year, with Dave singing the praises of David Price while Jack argued the case for Carl Froch to take the gong.

In the final section, the team could still scarcely believe the scenes that had unfolded at Celtic Park, where the Bhoys beat Barcelona 2-0 in a match which will surely go down in football folklore. Praise was rightly given to Celtic manager Neil Lennon for his tactics and the way he motivated the Hoops to grind out an unbelievable result.
