Varsity Tied at 5-5 after Lacrosse and Women’s rugby

24th March 2014

This Saturday saw the return of Varsity with the men’s lacrosse and women’s rugby fixtures taking place back to back at Trent’s Clifton Campus. With the overall Varsity tied at 4-4 before the day both Uni’s were looking at taking a commanding two point lead with only three fixtures left.

Men’s Lacrosse was up first and Uni started slowly with Trent racing into a 3-1 lead early in the game. After some dominating play from Uni star play Oli Tozer UoN pulled the score back to 5-4 early in the second quarter however this would be as close as they got to their opposition with Trent extending their lead at regular intervals for the rest of the game running out 14-6 winners.

UoN had better luck in the Women’s rugby though, an event historically we are very good at. The ladies ran out 32-17 victors leaving the series tied at 5-5.

Next up is Varsity Hockey this Friday at Beeston Hockey Club. Live updates from both the men’s and ladies game from 17.00 on @urnsport
