The Miami Music Week Lowdown (Tuesday)

25th March 2014

One of the key features of Miami Music Week are the enormous pool and beach parties that are thrown by various superstar DJs and their record labels. Here’s a rundown of the hottest tickets in town this week…

SIZE #DECADE
Steve Angello was a legend even before Swedish House Mafia and the Size Record’s boss is celebrating a decade of releasing great dance music by throwing a massive party, Miami style. #DECADE will introduce the iconic RC COLA PLANT to the music scene, delivering a must see show that Steve Angello fans will not want to miss, with guests Thomas Gold, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano, Third Party and Nari and Milani.

MAD DECENT/OWSLA/HOT CREATIONS at the Red Bull Guest House
Parties at the Red Bull Guest House are fast becoming legendary and the line-up is there to match. On Thursday Hot Creations bosses Jamie Jones and Lee Foss will take over the decks after performances from Greg Pidock, Anabel Englund and special guests Art Department. Friday will see Skrillex and his OWSLA crew (Jack Beats, Kill the Noise, What So Not and more) indulge the bass lovers – expect plenty of new tracks from his newly released debut album, Recess. Saturday brings what could be the highlight of the line-up as Diplo and his Mad Decent artists occupy the desks, with Zeds Dead, Yellow Claw, Mr. Carmack, Djemba Djemba and The Partysquad all featuring. There’ll also be a special B2B DJ set, would it be greedy to ask for a performance from new due Jack U (Diplo and Skrillex) ahead of their Sunday night Ultra set as well?

ALL GONE PETE TONG POOL PARTY
Pete Tong’s All Gone pool party has become one of Miami Music Week’s central pillars. This is a don’t miss event, combining superstar DJs with underground producers. The line-up features EDM stars Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Michael Brun, as well as man of the moment MK and acclaimed youngster Oliver Heldens.

KING OF ACE POOL PARTY

This beach party is all about the bassline! Filled with artists renowned for big bass, the beach will be shaking all evening. Steve Aoki and Deorro are the highlights of the line-up which also features summer 2010 stars Yolanda Be Cool.

MAU5TRAP VS. PRYDA Party
Arguably the party of the week, as the Swedish legend teams up with his buddy Deadmau5 for a progressive house party of epic proportions. Both these artists really know how to throw a party, between Prydz’s legendary visuals and Deadmau5’s infamous LED helmet, there is no doubt the MAU5TRAP VS. PRYDA Party will kick off!
