The Big Picture: Private Schools, Immigration, Young MPs – Wednesday 3rd December 2014

7th January 2015

Our penultimate show of first term became one of our most lively yet with the all-too-familiar clash of our panellists, both regular and new, on schools, immigration and the age of Members of Parliament.

First up, we discussed controversial proposals from the opposition to remove the charitable status of private schools unless they do more to help the state education system.

After a short break our panellists exchanged some heated rhetoric on immigration, in particular on the news that the current Government did not meet the targets they originally set themselves.

The show finished with a discussion on the age of MPs following research that shows some of the youngest candidates for the 2015 General Election are just 18 years old.

Don’t forget to join us on Wednesdays from 6pm for discussion of student issues, current affairs and all things politics!
