Best British Female Solo Artist
The full list of nominations for Best British Female Solo Artist are as follows:
The Students of the University of Nottingham didn’t all agree on who would turn out victorious in the category though:
The team in the studio also had a heated debate on who was going to pick up this years award, which has been designed by Tracy Emin!
Best British Male Solo Artist
This is the first award for the males the team are looking at, with the nominees including George Ezra and Ed Sheeran:
We went around campus to discuss with you, the students, who was likely to win the award:
Rhiannon then ran through the nominees in detail with the team, as listeners joined the debate by texting in!
British Breakthrough Artist
The Breakthrough Artist is one of the most competitive awards this year, and here are the nominees:
The student’s around campus also had their own views on who the winner this year should be:
The team in the studio then discussed who should take it home, and whether it should be based on sales figures who ‘brokethrough’ the most:
British Group
Group’s receive their own award and the nominees range massively from rock to pop:
Meanwhile, opinion was divided amongst the students as to who should win!
In the studio, Ian let off a controversial bombshell by suggesting that Coldplay should win! What do you think?
British Single of the Year
Moving onto British Single of the Year, will the commercially successful albums be victorious? Here are the nominations:

Meg and Elliot then took us through some of the favourites to win, and why they’d been successful over the past 12 months:
British Album of the Year
Single’s aren’t the only thing to be rewarded however, with Album’s remaining ever popular. These are the nominations for British Album of the year:
Those around the Portland Building were divided over which album they’d listened too most over the past 12 months:
The team in the studio ran through the nominees, and also highlighted one controversial point in this year’s nominations!
Best International Male
Moving away from Britain, the team also took a look at the nominees for Best International Male:
The students of Nottingham were divided who should win this award:
Ollie and Naama then shared their opinions on the category, including discussing who the awards panel had snobbed:
Best International Female
Moving over to the female side, the nominees include icons such as Beyonce:
Meanwhile, the students were split over whether it should be the likes of Taylor Swift or the more recent Sia:
Our reporters didn’t agree particularly on who should win this award, particularly over Taylor Swift:
