Varsity Netball Report

30th April 2015

UoN 33-44 Trent

Final Buzzer Commentary:

Post-Match Interview with UoN Captain Emma Bewick:

The afternoon started off with a sense of optimism for the Uni of Netball team who were no doubt the under dogs having finished 5th in the BUCS leagues whilst Trent finished 3rd. The first quarter was a tight run affair ending in a Trent lead of 11-10 but Uni Of were leading 5-3 in the first part of the game. The team looked confident going into the second quarter and their positive attitude paid off in a 20-20 score at half time.

The 3rd quarter is where the game was won with Uni Of’s Goal Attack Ellie Davie playing a good game but went off injured and the quarter ended in a 34-29 lead to Trent that would prove too hard to over turn in the last quarter. In the final quarter the team played with great spirit but Trent kept marching on to achieve a 44-33 win over their rivals. You couldn’t fault the team’s enthusiasm and determination and they did themselves proud. Captain Emma Bewick played the role of Wing Attack and Center and played exceptionally well and epitomized the team’s performance level. The Uni of Goal Scorer Harriet Welton also had a notably cracking game.
