5th June 2017
On the 9th of June, University Radio Nottingham will be launching URN: Malaysia. In addition to our current schedule of 24/7 student-created content, URN: Malaysia will broadcast independently, giving our listeners even more choice in their student sound.
“There are over 3500 students based on the Malaysian Campus, and we think this is a great step in order to engage better with our students over there, giving them more listening and broadcasting opportunities.” – Matt Manley, URN’s Deputy Station Editor.
“With over 9000 International Students studying on the UK Campus, the University of Nottingham is a global university and it’s time we became a global student radio station.” – Gabrielle Morris, URN’s incoming Station Editor
The URN: Malaysia Soft Launch will be broadcast at 12pm (GMT) in both the UK and Malaysia. From then onwards, student-created content from students at the Malaysia Campus will be regularly uploaded to their Audioboom page in preparation for a full launch of regularly scheduled programming beginning in September for the 2017-18 Academic Year.
