Clubfoot Stomp into the 6 Mix
4 August 2010 - 6:58pm — Mr.E Reggae DancehallRadio clubfoot went on to win “Best Specialist Music Show” and as if mixing with the hoy paloy of BBC Radio at the awards ceremony wasn't enough (not that I'm jealous of course...much), last Sunday they got their shot at national broadcasting by hitting the “6 Mix” on BBC 6 music.
URN After Dark Superband
18 June 2010 - 7:24pm — Tom WhiterIt was my last After Dark show on Monday, and after two years of playing the best local music around I couldn’t just leave without doing something memorable, so I decided it was time to put into action a plan I’d had since last year: would it be possible to get a load of local bands in to write and perform a song from scratch over the course of one show?
With the help of producer Alex and his band Frontiers, we managed to compile a supergroup of Nottingham talent with the aim of not only playing out music from the local scene, but directly contributing to it too.
No More MrE!
14 May 2010 - 12:40am — Mr.E Reggae DancehallSadly, exam commitments have meant that I have had to end my show prematurely. This means that there will be no Reggae Dancehall Show for the remainder of term.
I really hope to be back in the Autumn but would like to thank everyone who has supported the show. Keep your eyes peeled because I have a Youtube Channel I plan to launch over the summer!
I hope to be back on the air in September but until then...
Keep It Reggae Dancehall!

Local Bands Unite for Sparklehorse Benefit Gig
10 May 2010 - 4:45pm — Tom WhiterHi All, Tom Whiter from Monday nights here, letting you know about a gig you shouldn't miss out on this Weekend in town:
It was back in March that the sad news began to filter through from the US that the frontman of Sparklehorse- singer, songwriter and musician Mark Linkous- had taken his own life.
As the tributes poured in from the likes of Patti Smith, Steve Albini, Chris Walla of Death Cab For Cutie fame and Radiohead's Colin Greenwood, obituaries from major newspapers down to the music blogosphere remembered a man who's beautiful and haunting music made him a pin-up of the alternative indie-rock scene.

I came to Sparklehorse relatively late in the day, only picking up on the albumsIt's A Wonderful Life and Good Morning Spider after arriving at Uni and finding myself woefully uneducated. From there it was great to discover the collaborations with Tom Waits, PJ Harvey, Radiohead and Danger Mouse that he was also famous for.
