Stu & James' Christmas Gift Guide

posted 29.11.12 at 1:35pm

This week, I've found a new profession for James, who needs Grad Schemes, Banks and Lawyers - James' true calling in life is a Personal Shopper! Throughout the show we'll be finding the very best gifts for those tricky relations

Here are James' top tips for Christmas Gifts.

WARNING: James is from Surrey, please be aware of this when you read his Christmas gift suggestions!

For Mum

James says: "Mum's nowadays try and get up on the technology, they might have an iPhone or a laptop now, but they've still got the huge hi-fi they've had from when they younger...they're never gonna change it. This turns that stereo system into something that can play from your phone or laptop wirelessly, so Mum can keep her retro stereo."

James says: "Your mum's spent all Christmas cleaning up after everybody, she needs some time to kick back and relax, and these glasses make wine taste better... apparently."

Interview with Inbetweeners star and funny-man Greg Davies

So you may know Greg Davies as Mr Gilbert from The Inbetweeners, or from off the telly on shows such as Have I Got News For You, Mock The Week, Ask Rhod Gilbert or We Are Klang - but he is also an award-nominated comic.

He is Nottingham very soon as part of his Edinburgh Comedy Award-nominated 'Firing Cheeseball At A Dog' tour - and we caught up with him to have a chat about how he got into comedy, The Inbetweeners and the upcoming movie as well as his tour!

Tune in this Monday to The Morning Show between ten and twelve to hear what he had to say!

And here it is in all its glory:

Gwen or Rebecca?

So in our show today we talked about our friend Gwen, who looks very much like Rebecca Black, of the viral video, Friday, fame.

So we thought we would see what our website fans thought?! Here is Rebecca on the left, and Gwen on the right.

What do you think do they look the same? Let us know in the commments below! Here is Rebecca's video for anyone that hasn't seen it!

We will also get up the Sesame Street videos and our Monday Morning Melody leaderboard this week, so keep checking out the blog - and please keep tuning in 10-12 on Mondays! :)

Much love

Visit from RaW on Tour

posted 17.02.11 at 4:16pm 79 comments

Good Afternoon!

Well, we had a visit on our show on Monday from the guys at RaW (Radio Warwick), who have set out on a tour of the every single student radio station in England - in order to raise awareness for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

The guys are traveling around all fifty-two student radio stations in England, in just a week - all to raise as much money as possible for these cancer charities.

You can hear their interview with us here, and please do check out rawontour.co.uk.

We will be back with you every Monday, 10am-12pm on URN so please do tune in, and don't forget to add us on Facebook here.

Also, in case you wondering here is an update on our Monday Morning Melody scores - last week James increased his lead even further, but thanks to a tie break decision on Monday from Chilli, Stu managed to pull back a point - the start of a comeback?

Well, we've had a few shows now and we've had quite a lot going on! First of all, our first two podcasts up, which you can get on our page, or the podcast page! We're trying to get more podcasts up soon, but 'Study Leave' took it's toll so keep checking back!

Before Christmas we mentioned the PG Tips Monkey, and how he wasn't just a Christmassy character! But over Christmas, Stu got a Christmas-style Monkey, and we put a picture up of it on our Facebook page, and it's hear as well!

We also talked about the little band of Kinder figures that had formed in the office, from the winning of a Kinder Surprise, and you can see the aptly named 'Manton's Midgets'here!

Name That Frame, or Picture The Scene as it's now called, made an impromptu, unrehearsed reappearance with us performing Shakespeare live on air. To listen just hit play below...
