Martin Luke Brown - Session & Interview

posted 29.05.14 at 11:50am

Last week, we welcomed Martin Luke Brown to the URN Studios for an exclusive session and interview, where he performed a fantastic rendition of Coldplay's Magic, before a stunning stripped-back version of his brand new single Nostalgia.

About Martin:

Martin has been championed by BBC Introducing, also performed in the 2012 Olympic Park and in late 2013, he won the GIGS: Big Busk competition ran by Mayor of London. His music fuses elements of soul and funk with a modern edge. He is comfortable performing solo or with his band (acoustic or electric) and is guaranteed to deliver his performance with infectious energy.

BBC's Tom Robinson described Martin as "A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, writing and performing since the tender age of 14. Packing gutsy vocals with toe-tapping rhythms, Martin writes a real eclectic mix of songs with a distinct 'from the heart out the mouth' feel unifying them.”

Now after having spent the last 6 months working with a host of producers and writers, Martin is releasing his first official video as the first look and listen to his new material.

No Tomorrow's Next Headliner!

posted 15.04.14 at 7:08pm

Stuck for post-exams plans? Wondering what the best way to kick off your summer is?

On Saturday 7 June the sun-kissed surroundings of Nottingham’s own Wollaton Park will be transformed for the much anticipated No Tomorrow Festival.

URN will be keeping you up to date with all the latest news and, as promised, here is the next Headliner!

Indiana:

Indiana made her much-anticipated return to Nottingham last Saturday (12th April) at Rescue Rooms and no fewer than three days later, she's been confirmed as an addition to the No Tomorrow lineup! Indiana made her first live debut in Old Market Square two years ago, and since signing a deal with Sony, she has an album out later this year and a host of Summer Festival commitments. Her two Radio 1-supported singles, Mess Around and Solo Dancing - the latter due for release on 20th April - are excellent examples of the artist and show the extent to which she has risen in the last few years. Having played at Glastonbury, played in front of the Queen and had a baby in her short rise to stardom, this is certainly the start of much bigger things for Indiana.
