All this week on URN we're announcing a new Summer Party mainstage act at 1.30pm. Make sure you listen to Remote Control starting Monday 19th March to hear who's going to be playing this year's festival. Info about all of the acts will appear here once they've been announced.

Monday - Wheatus

WheatusWheatus started out playing small local gigs around lower eastside, New York City. Formed in 1995 by frontman Brendan B. Brown, they first caught the eye in 2000 with the release of their self-titled debut album which included the hit singles “A little respect” and punk-pop anthem “Teenage Dirtbag”. Now, after many a line-up change, Wheatus are back on tour with a new album expected this year.

Their basist said he would rather play Ukulele and they wrote a song called “Punk Ass Bitch” – they definitely have the potential to bring something fresh to Summer Party 2012.

Find us on site and get creative with our inflatables including our festival cROCKodile, have your photograph taken for your chance to win some great prizes including; CDs and beach balls, and Savoy cinema tickets!

Tune into the Summer Party Aftershow on Sunday from noon to see if your photo was entertaining enough to win a prize! The top 3 photographs will win prizes and will be announced throughout the show!

Breaking news just in! Chase & Status will not be appearing at The Summer Party this year, only forty-eight hours before they should be appearing at our very own university!

Speaking to Gemma Chance, Events and Advertising Manager for the SU, she confirmed to URN that Chase and Status called her this morning and pulled out of the gig here on campus! The good news is that we can confirm that Pendulum will be performing in their place!
