Manifesto

I am a final year physiotherapy student and so far I have been involved heavily in the SU as a Physiotherapy Course Rep, SUPA President and a Karnival Rep, as well as maintaining my successful dance fitness business. Through this I have developed excellent organisational, time management and leadership skills, whilst also having vast experience in liaising between students, staff and the general public. I have fantastic insight into how the SU works and would love the opportunity to use my skills and alternative ideas to further enhance community relations within Nottingham.

Listed below are my policies:

• Negotiate with University Park Security to allow students on campus in their cars in certain circumstances

• Address public transport issues, particularly that of the Medilink, a currently free service used by many healthcare students, which is considering beginning to charge

• Find proactive solutions to housing problems such as locating housemates and issues with landlords by continuing and improving the “Love Your Home” scheme which is currently in place

• Work with the Educations Department and Officer to improve communication to commuting students allowing ample notification of lecture cancellations and amendments

• Prioritise and publicise Student Volunteering Schemes to better Nottingham as a city and improve student integration

• Hopper Bus: Longer time range for Derby Hopper Bus.

• Gain funding for City Hospital Hopper Bus

• Ensure students are engaged, registered and well informed on the 2015 General Election

• Improve information relayed to Students on a “Year out” or Year abroad regarding housing and any changes within the university during their time away, allowing a smoother transition back to their university life

• Ensure Post-Graduate students are as well informed and involved as Undergraduate students regarding housing issues, volunteering opportunities and events within the SU

• Improve involvement of “Hard to Reach” campuses in the SU through offer of services in Portland Building to become mobile and used in these campuses

• Continue progression of the Community First Response programme currently being set up by UNAD students to incorporate other students
