Manifesto

• Transparency & Communication

Make students aware of decisions being made that will impact their sporting experience, and the surrounding reasons, with emphasis on receiving constant feedback from all areas over the duration of the year.

• Recruitment

Let potential students know that we can offer them not only a top-class educational experience but also a quality sporting experience, helping to attract strong athletes improving the quality of our teams and their future experience. The channel for this would be through open days, visit days, a social media platform and student networking.

• Academic Provisions

Continue work into academic provisions creating a situation where students don’t have to choose between education and sport; working with the education officer to enable the videoing of Wednesday lectures so students are not missing out through representing the university.

• Integration

Retain high numbers of students participating in sport ensuring the environment is suitable for all groups of students at university to participate. Encourage interaction between the different clubs and IMS sports through socials and sports days resulting in a strong sense of support throughout the university.

• Media

Create positive sports media coverage across the university: every student should know how well their sporting representatives are doing. Working with the University TV stations (NUTS) and the University newspaper to give weekly coverage. Finally, I will look at the possibility of live Wednesday streams of matches themselves.

• Little Victories

Address smaller club specific issues with rapid, simple and effective solutions.
