Manifesto

I’m reading History and in the time I have been at Nottingham I have had considerable experience working with our Students’ Union. Society activity is the live blood of University life, bringing diversity and opportunities for everyone’s enjoyment. I believe there are a number of ways that we can improve how student union life can give you a better service. I propose the following:

SOCIETY CREDITS – making it easier to join societies through the use of pre paid credit arrangements that students can cash in at the Freshers’ Fayres.

LINKING SOCIETIES AND NETWORKS – to maximise cross participation and encourage networking for events, services and campaigns using an online forum.

CLOSER DEPARTMENT/SOCIETY RELATIONS – enabling societies to work with University schools to provide a range of course based trips and activities.

UPGRADED I.T. FOR COMMITTEES – targeted investment to help societies to closely audit their finances and to simplify payments made.

BRINGING SOCIETIES TO YOU – giving students living away from University Park direct access to smaller society fayres during Freshers’ Week.

GIVING YOU A VOICE – regular council meetings open to all with the feedback published.

I stand for improving the Students’ Union for you.
